Making Some Progress

Image
Day 17 Yesterday Randy made some progress on the deck.  You can finally see the shape and size. He got some help from Reese and Drew yesterday.  Drew taking a break from Fortnite to help his dad! Today Randy's Dad is coming over to help.  I can't wait to get home from work to see how much they get finished! :)

Starting the Deck

Day 9 The pool has been backfilled and we have finally settled on a design.  Thankfully the rain has stopped, so Randy was able to start digging the post holes for the deck.   Over the next couple of weeks there probably won't be a whole lot of progress...but for a great reason!  My son will be on leave from the Army for the next 2 weeks, so we want to spend as much time with him as possible.  Randy will likely only work on the deck if Joey is busy doing other things.  I am so excited that it is finally started though! I have decided on a different color scheme, so we have been busy painting the furniture and many of the accessories, and switching out pillows.  I love how much paint transforms a space.  It's such an inexpensive and easy way to update your look!  Also, did you notice the fountain in the pool? I finally have a water feature! LOL

And Then More Rain!!!

Day 2 They were supposed to come and back-fill but the rain made that impossible. The bright side is that the downpour we had helped fill the pool. LOL

Before Work Begins/The Thought Process

I absolutely love all of our outdoor areas here at our Vaughn Hill home. We have The Beckman Patio, which has definitely seen it's fair share of fun family gatherings and numerous parties. We also have the porch off the master bedroom, that we use when the weather is too hot to be on the patio. It's a wonderful place for us to sit and enjoy a drink while watching the dogs play.  However, there is one thing that I have always felt was missing. We needed water!  We've gone back and forth for years. Do we want a hot tub? A pool? Are both too much trouble? Would we really use either?  A couple of weeks ago, I decided we need to go ahead and just do it. Finally take the plunge (get it, LOL) After all our grand-kids will need something to do when the come to grandma & grandpa's house right? Well it took a little convincing, but Randy finally got on board.  Even though I have always envisioned a fairly big in-ground pool out in the middle of the yard, we decided to d
